Zach Ferrell was born and raised in Nashville, TN where he played competitive basketball his whole life. He continued his basketball career at the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga where he played for 4 years. After graduating, he became the Chaplain at UTC and missionary for Fellowship of Christian Athletes in Chattanooga, where he served for 5 years. Zach then became the head coach at Hamilton Heights Christian Academy, where he led his team to top 2 in the nation. There he coached over 25+ Division 1 players, 6 professional players, and 2 First round NBA draft picks. Next, Zach took a role coaching at Eastern Florida State College in Melbourne, FL before God called him back into ministry with FCA. He is now the Director over all FCA Sports in Brevard County. Zach says “I love club and league sports because it can bring families together from all over, and bond them through the team. I love working for FCA because I believe in the mission of using teams and sports to share the Good News to every athlete.”

Being called to ministry through a sport I am passionate about has been the biggest blessing of my life. I found my love for the game of volleyball at a young age when a coach gave me a chance to play in a local recreation league. I went on to play varsity volleyball all four years of high school, competed in high level club play, and earned scholarship opportunities to play in college. After a serious injury and traumatic experience early in my collegiate career, I lost hope and faith in my sport, leaving me broken. I was given grace and learned that there are far greater things ahead by realizing sports was not my god, but Christ alone was.  I volunteered as a coach in my hometown, and then after moving to the Melbourne area in 2016, I had the opportunity to coach at the middle and high school level. Since 2020 I have had the joy of being a part of FCA Elevate Volleyball Club as the Director.

Jason grew up in Brevard County, graduating from Melbourne High School. He played baseball at UCF and later in the Yankees, A’s, and Blue Jays organizations. Jason was a teacher and baseball coach at both the high school and college levels for over 15 years. He has been the youth pastor at Georgianna Church in Merritt Island for the last 3 years. Jason loves serving with FCA as he views it as the perfect way to combine his love of sports, his love for others, and his love for Jesus.
